![]() ![]() I'm mainly writing this for myself to reference but other tips and pointers would be nice.Ĭolonists need Life Support to survive: Oxygen, Water, & Food. Have a consistent supply and everything is good.Ĭolonists want some extras while surviving: Housing, Working in the day (mostly inside), Decor, & a building/s to satisfied their specialization and/or traits. While randomly playing, if I blindly put service buildings in (and stuff the rest of the slices with housing & the production center) and assume everyone will be happy with the basic Grocer, Art Store, Diner, Infirmary (like I can do with Life Support) Morale would still slowly decrease. ![]() Under the Research branch 'Robotics' on the 19th row. Description Mining deep into the crust of Mars, the Mohole Mine produces Metals, Rare Metals and Waste Rock, while heating the surrounding area. Gym/Tai Chi (Exercise) + Space Bar (Relax,Social) Grocer (Shop) + Space Bar (Drinking,Social)Īrt Store (Luxury,Shop) + any Social (Diner, Bar, Gym, etc)Ĭasino/Electronics Store (Gaming) + Space Bar (Relax,Social) Fyi Grocer, Art Store, Diner, & Infirmary will only keep Medics happy till the Infirmary gets it's upgrade.Īfter Exceling, I found that the minimum service buildings: SpecializationĪrt Store (Luxury,Shop) + Space Bar (Relax)ĭiner (Dining) + Space Bar (Relax) + Grocer (Shop) So I sat down today and reviewed Specialization / Trait needs vs Service Buildings. Mohole Mine is a Production & a wonder building in Surviving Mars. Literately everyone gains comfort from a Space Bar wither they needs Relaxation (which the only alternative is a Infirmary with the upgrade) or Drinking (which only Geologist and Alcoholics need). It is also hits that Social itch (which has plenty of alternatives). The only Specialization that can easily ignore the Space Bar is the Medic due to being the only one without Relaxation Or Drinking.įirst Small Dome: Art Store + Space Bar will keep None, Botanist, Geologist, & Medic specializations happy. The Art Store will use Polymers consistently, the only alternative is a Casino + Grocer (or any shopping) which will also make Scientist happy thanks to the gaming. But the Casino has the worst worker per visitor ratio, and that is the reason I don't like them for early game. Medium/Large Dome: Casino + Space Bar + Grocer w/ optional Diner(Dining for Engineers/Gluttons) & Gym(Exercise for Officers/Fit). Mining Dome: See either None or Geologist's lines in the above table.Įdit add -> Farm Done: Art Store + Decoration + optional Social for the normals. If we replace the Art Store w/ Casino, then the Shop need would still need to be met, in addition to the other costs of a Casino.Ĭhild/Elderly Dome: See Medic's line in the above table.Ī) Have your service buildings open while people aren't at work and that should be it.ī) Make your you have enough of each to make people generally happy. So TLDR: Build a Space Bar + your Dome's Specialization needs. RC transport can move over the concrete and metals, or your shuttles will ferry material over to a universal depot if you. Use a RC Commander rover to build the outpost. Some cheap solar panels, a battery, vaporator, and you're set. ![]() I completely missed that decorations provide Relaxation & Exercise, making the Botanist, Engineer, & Officer needs being meet with less maintenance. 24 colonists max to run the mine and services. The nice thing about using micro and barrel domes for mines is that in addition to being cheap they benefit from the Dome Bioscaping tech so the residences have higher comfort to offset the lack of services. And if the Social need is meet through anything else, then the None, Scientist are also easier. They've got room for six or seven living complexes plus support services which is enough to run four or more extractors. Surviving Mars is a sci-fi city builder where players attempt to survive the hostile environment of Mars while colonizing it. Once the mine is depleted I tend to convert the dome into either a creche or retirement dome since it's got the infrastructure built up.įor places where there are multiple deposits in close proximity (or I just want to put more extractors on a rich deposit) I really like Barrel Domes. That leaves 20 left to work in the mines which is enough to run one extractor at 3 shifts and a second at 2 shifts (or put the infirmary at one person per shift and turn on third shift for the second extractor). Surviving Mars links Gamepedia in: Production Excavator Edit The Excavator is a Production building in Surviving Mars. A Small Space Bar, Infirmary and Grocer requires 12. Two Living Complexes gives room for 32 people. They have just enough room for people to run an extractor or two plus support services. Personally if it's a single relatively small deposit I like to use Micro Domes. ![]() As Ericus1 said once you've got shuttles and an RC Commander it's pretty easy to setup remote mining stations. ![]()
